
The Shindig
This was our very first Shindig. We created an annual internal event to bring the marketing team together to collaborate, build relationships, learn best practices and have fun outside of the office. The idea was to mix of networking and outdoor fun with some obligatory business thrown in for good measure. My role was to create a look that felt more hip and less corporate. I wanted the look to have a throwback vibe and to match a beach culture, which is where the event was held. "The Shindig" was created.

Location
Sunny days and cool balmy nights give Huntington Beach near perfect weather. Across the street from the Pacific Ocean, Pasea is a high-end hotel that is a short 11-minute walk from the Huntington Beach Pier and 5 miles from Newport Beach.

Team Building
Yoga, giant Jenga, campfires, s'mores, food, conversation were all part of the activities involved to boost company culture. One activity that hit home for me was surfing. It was my first time.

The Beginnings
I wanted to share a few of the early comps created for "The Shindig." The beginning started with the concept of an open aperture representing "ideas," but as the process continued, we scrapped it, broke our mold and decided to make it fun.
